How much a new paint job can do.....

Painting is so much harder than it looks! The one good thing about outdoor painting, is that you don't have to be 100% perfect on it, as where indoors it is easier to see flaws. Our venture: paint the outside of our house a much better color. Jack did most of the painting, I offered to help, but he has a certain way he likes to do it, and is much more effcient that I am! I got to help do the trim while he did most of the big stuff.

Here is our house in June 2008 when it was purchased. Notice the lovely light blue.....we wanted a color that was much more neutral and matched the stonework on the front of the house.

May 2010.....a nice tan color. The front of the house is done, just the back still needs to be painted, but its hidden for now. At least you can't see it from the street!

Notice...no more tree!

Next after the outdoor painting.....the shutters are going up. They are going to be painted a maroon/reddish color. It will look really nice!

Congrats!!!

Jack & I just wanted to wish congrats to our friends Keely & Kevin on the birth of their first and new baby girl Raelyn Grace Norman! Keely & I went to middle school and high school together, and then located to maryland after she got married. They lived about an hour from us, but now they live in Morocco! So far away! Congrats on a baby all the way in Africa! We miss you!

Meet Raelyn Grace Norman!
Mom & Dad wanted the sex of the baby to be a surprise to them, and did not find out to Raelyn arrived! Raelyn Grace Norman, born May 8, 2010 at 10:15 AM local time in Casablanca, Morocco. She's a beautiful baby girl weighing 7 lbs 5 oz, and both mom and baby are doing extremely well. Keely was an champ through the 7-hour process -- my hero!

Congrats to one cute little happy family!

Things are popping up everywhere!

I love spring. The one great thing about it is that flowers start to pop up and bloom. Flowers you forgot you had, and sometimes flowers you never knew you had!

When we moved in, the people who lived here before us must of been professional gardners or something! We try to keep up, but they must have gardened everyday! Not possible for us, but we do what we can to keep up!

I have a thing for garden flags. I just feel like they say "welcome!"

My lovely daisies! I am honestly surprised they lasted this long.....

Not sure what flower this is, but it popped up!

WE thought our rose bush had died......but it proved us wrong!
 The roses are beautiful!

Happy spring!
