Holiday Cards 2010

Its that time of the year again. Holiday cards. I always have the best intentions of sending them out, but never get around to it. So, last minute I always send the cards that are 75% off because no one wanted them, and due to my part of being a procrastinator. And they are not even remotely cute.

I am all about perfection when it comes that time of year to send out those holiday cards. The picture has to be just right. I remember being a kid, and always having to pose and repose for pictures. As children, we never do what we are told, and NEVER look at the camera all at the same time. Same with pets! They are part of your family, but you can never get them to look at the camera. Out goes a holiday card with people and animals all looking in the opposite directions.

I always love looking into making photocards, but always have yet to do it. Then there lies my problem again! I can never decide which card I like the best, and then I never order, so they never get sent out.  So i decided that this year, is the year. I am going to send out cards at least 2 weeks before Christmas.

For you bloggers: Shutterfly is offering this great promotion! Check it out! SHUTTERFLY HOLIDAY CARDS 2010.

I love sending cards for holiday spirit. But, I prefer the cards that say "Happy Holidays" as opposed to
"Merry Christmas", as I have special people in my life who do not celebrate Christmas.

Here are some of my favorite designs:  http://www.shutterfly.com/cards-stationery

national harbor 2010

National Harbor right outside of DC has an awesome Holiday display at the Gaylord Hotel and Convention Center. We met up with Jack's mom & some family friends for the "opening" night of the holiday season. They had a fireworks show and everything! They have a theme every year and this one was the Grinch/Dr.Seuss. Very very cool!

The hotel features some awesome decorations, and a huge glass Christmas tree suspended from the ceiling. Awesome! It has an indoor fountain that presents a light show that dances to the sound of the music playing. AND there is an indoor "snowfall." crazy awesome, i know!

Happy start of the 2010 Holiday season!

St. Peter's Village

For our anniversary, Jack & I had pictures done. They were taken by our friend Mike at Morby Photography. They took our engagement and wedding photos. We did our pictures up in PA at St. Peter's Village. It is about 30 minutes away from West Chester. It was so much fun. Growing up in PA, I had never been there, but it was awesome. Lots of rock jumping, trees, streams, and a quaint little village.

Here is a preview of our photos, I'll post more later when i recieve the photo CD.

The beauty of Autumn

It's that time of the year when hundreds of colors fill our surroundings.....yellow, orange, brown, red, green....just to name a few! Despite the inevitable oncoming of winter and super cold weather approaching, this time of the year is so pretty, and makes you pause and forget the world around you! It is even said looking at fall colors helps lower your stress level!

Here are a few pictures outside our house, and around our street in the Dc metro area.

We put all the leaves from our yard on the side walk to be picked up and cleared the lawn. By the next day, the yard was full of leaves again!

Lovely fall colors. This tree is across the street on our neighbors yard.

A unique cool looking leaf I found while doing yard work.

Our roses are still in bloom and its mid November!!

The trees in our back yard look very lovely this time of year!

Happy Autumn! enjoy it while it lasts!
